flowIQ® 2200 Kamstrup Water Meters
Now, you can let your smart meter work for you to help locate leaks and create an unprecedented transparency in your distribution network. Acting like a fine-meshed network of noise loggers, the flowIQ® 2200 water meters listen to the distribution lines and service connections to detect leaks. Integrated Acoustic Leak Detection (ALD) is changing the metering industry. This new smart technology is going to produce significant water savings due to being two steps ahead of water loss.
The ALD sensors in the meter enable registering and reporting of sound patterns that could indicate potential leakage on transmission lines and distributions mains, as well as service connections.
The flowIQ® 2200 ALD sensors listen every 55 minutes allowing a variation of listening times 24/7 – 365 days a year. By listening at 55 minute intervals, the utility is able to gather valuable data for locating leaks. Meter reading and leak data are sent to the AMI Collectors and the data can be viewed via a Hosted Platform which can be accessed from the office or home. The city will then be able to view reading data and export to the billing software.
